About a year ago, a friend of mine showed me the ductless heat pump installed in her home. I had never heard of a ductless heat pump before. I don’t know how I went so many years being unaware of such a magnificent invention. A ductless heat pump is better than peanut butter and jelly.
This type of HVAC unit combines the best of everything, and can make just about any space perfectly comfortable. A ductless heat pump is made up of two main components. One component is located outside the house, and the other is mounted high on the wall inside of the house. You can have multiple indoor units connected to one outdoor unit, and all you need is a three-inch hole in an exterior wall and access to electricity.
Plus, a ductless heat pump combines both heating and cooling capability into one unit. You can switch from heating to cooling mode with the touch of a button on a remote control. Some top-of-the-line models automatically adjust speed to the demands of the room, which trims operational costs and ensures more consistent indoor temperatures. I now have a ductless heat pump installed in every bedroom of my home, and they all run off of one outdoor component. My house is so much more comfortable, and I am amazed by how economical the heat pumps are to operate.
